Workforce Training

Workforce Training

Georgia takes workforce training seriously.  In April 2014, Governor Deal announced that the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development would be repositioned under the umbrella of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) as the new Workforce Division.  This streamlined structure is intended to ensure that the state’s workforce development efforts are aligned with the economic realities of the marketplace and what businesses need to succeed in Georgia.

As new investment opportunities locate in our state and to support existing industry, a critical component of this mission is meeting the workforce needs of Georgia companies.
The Workforce Division adds a workforce development team to Georgia’s economic development assets, providing additional resources to new and existing companies in Georgia.

Johns Creek partners closely with the Office of Workforce Development and Georgia Quick Start, Georgia's internationally acclaimed workforce development program that provides traning to qualified new, expanding and existing businesses.  These partnerships, along with a strong partnership to the state's University System and Technical College System, allow for a truly dynamic and qualified workforce and workforce pipeline.
